The Black Community Empowerment Hour is a forum that aims to bring together organizers to discuss how to improve the black experience when receiving services in their communities. The topic of this virtual event will be centered around HIV/AIDS in the black community, in which will we break down the myths and facts about the prevalence of HIV among African Americans in MiamiDade County, barriers and pathways of success for accessing treatment, and methods of prevention.

The second part of the event will offer HIV/HCV testing and free medical services at the IDEA SSP fixed site. In order to achieve this, we will be partnering with the University of Miami Department of Community Service Medical Team. The goal of this event is to empower attendees with the facts about HIV/AIDS in the Black Community and provide them with the necessary tools to get connected to care.
